Stairway to heaven

But it was definitely a surprise to see SRK in the list. I have always admired his wit, intelligence & persistence than his acting histrionics. I cant say whether he deserved to be in this elite list, but I would surely include him in the "10 most powerful men of india" list. He was a no one and rose from the ranks of obscurity to being the most powerful/popular film star of bollywood and that too without any godfather.

Last sunday I skimmed through an article by Swaminathan A Iyer in ToI. The article was on who had a better chance of becoming a PM after the national elections.. surprise surprise... he is betting all his money on Ms Mayawati...and he assumes it is because of the complicated coalition govt politics...

Are we ready to accept Ms M as our Prime Minister... do you think she will be able to manage the expectations of 1 billion ppl of this country... forget abt the expectations.. do u think she can represent India when she meets with the premiers of other nations...

I firmly believe that if we do elect Mayawati as our PM, the veneer of "India rising" will fade away faster!!

With the national elections looming large...I wonder whether BJP can make any impact this time... i dont think the anti-incumbency factor will work this time considering the results of the assembly elections that were held last month.. but the bigger question is -
Can India also produce a leader in the league of Obama?? Can India have a leader who can inspire people.. who can raise hopes of it's citizens considering the tumultuous 2008.. and dark & uninspiring 2009 looming ahead...

I read an article by Shobha de in the Times of India today and she has mentioned about a book called " Where have all the leaders gone?" by Lee Iococca, the charismatic CEO of Chrylser Corp. It talks about the problems faced by the US of A and how the current leaders of America have moved the country to the brink of depression with a pack of lies. Should be an interesting read... this book goes to my google notebook as a must read book... :) oh btw google notebook is now a dead project... they arent going to make any development in it nor take any new registrations.

And I firmly believe Sanjay Dutt is way better off as our Munna Bhai in Films, rather than trying to behave as one in the real life politics... :)

Happy Republic Day guys!!
